This bolo tie features a gorgeous piece of Aloe variscite with an autumnal color scheme that is very butterscotch-coded. I wrapped this stone in a layer of twist wire, smooth wire, and finished off with handmade sterling silver accent balls.
Strung on a braided leather code and topped with sterling silver bolo tips for a total length of 36". This stone is extra special, not just because it's a spectacular example of my favorite material, but also because it was cut years ago by a late friend of mine who was just getting good at lapidary work before he passed on. Turquoise is considered a relatively soft and porous stone, and as with all silver based jewelry, this gem should be taken off when showering, applying lotion, etc. to avoid discoloration of the stone and to keep this piece in beautiful condition for years to come!
